On the search for a TV series or film to watch that:
A) doesn't have any weapons
B) isn't a romance
C) isn't a horror
D) will leave me feeling joyful and happy.
Seems very hard to find such a thing.

I watch guys (as far as I can tell this far, it's all guys) on YouTube doing insane yard transformations.
Current fave is a channel called Midlife Stockman.
Just a guy passionate about helping people in his town (Detroit) get their yards back.

Amazing photography. I saw it when it came out - I was 9 - and it made an impression. It's as good as I remember.

we've just started watching Ann Droid. So far it has made me laugh quite a bit. The starting premise is sad, but the high jinx make it fun.

@quixoticgeek uh think we watched Schitt's Creek on Netflix (we don't use streaming services now).
It's about... People? It's not really set in this reality - it's not scifi or anything, it's just people in a town. But there is absolutely no flavour of queerphobia to the world. That sets it apart somewhat. It's mostly a comedy.

It is not a fancy instant backyard makeover kind of show (though some of the changes are quite impressive), and it's got a lot of the good, supportive, cheer-for-enthusiastic-amateurs vibes a la Great British Bake-Off without a lick of competition
@quixoticgeek I wonder if The Good Place would fit here? There are some elements of romance, and there are joking references to weapons (molotovs and such), but overall it's an awesome, happy, funny, philosophical thing. (Do not look up too much about it, lest you spoil yourself on the twist.)

@quixoticgeek Are you open to German television? SWR’s “Handwerkskunst” is a slow, drama-less celebration of all kinds of trades and arts. I believe there are hundreds of shows, mostly 30 minutes.
