this sounds like an absolutely avoidable hell

The fundamental challenge of software development is becoming how do you build reliable software using AI agents that are frequently wrong and often don’t follow instructions while your engineering team increasingly doesn’t understand the codebase because they didn’t write the code?

@aud @blogdiva ah but the automated brick-throwers will evolve over time! sure 99% of the bricks end up going through neighbors' windows and smashing parked cars but 1% of them get the bricks almost where they need to go and that's progress! we can build on that!!

@mxchara@seattle.pink @blogdiva@mastodon.social "sure, it's a lot more work to scramble around the worksite, pick up each brick, then inspect it to make sure it isn't damaged from the automated brick thrower before mortaring it and putting it into place than it is to just set a large pallet of bricks right where the brick mason is working, but it's so worth the price of progress! Purely gauged by heart rate, I do so much more in a day when I'm running around, dodging bricks, and trying to make sure they're alright before slotting them into place! And when we have enough brick tokens, it's even better, because we just set the brick thrower to autofire until it builds a wall!"
