I was dimly aware there was an Odyssey movie and was mildly interested in a "maybe I'll see it in the second-run theatre" kind of way until I realized it was Christopher Nolan. Instant turnoff
Like I don't hate his movies or anything, I've liked the few I've seen, it's just that they're very Serious and not as smart as some people seem to think, and I am absolutely disinterested in his take on the Odyssey. There are even other Directors Dudes Like who I think would do a better job. Maybe #Monsterdon has rotted my brain but give me, like, a Sam Raimi or GDT Odyssey.
(Ideally, just give it to just about any woman director. Or a very very gay male one)
He could do the Iliad! That would actually totally work! I mean I still wouldn't see it but it would probably work better.
edit:
P. S. O Brother, Where Art Thou is a perfectly enjoyable Odyssey movie
