UK people! I have a question! My standard reference point for talking about the mass of Starlink satellites for Canadian/American audiences is a Ford F150. In New Zealand I used a Ford Ranger. What's the equivalent in the UK? (Or do you not have ridiculous pickup trucks at all?)

I'm pretty sure we can relate to the Ford Ranger although a Toyota Hilux is possibly more commonly seen.

@sundogplanets Probably something like a Range Rover would make sense to us in the UK. I don't know if it's heavy enough though. We don't really do super trucks; they don't cope well with our roads and petrol is really expensive here.
@sundogplanets FFRR, full fat Range Rover, ie. the original full size model, not one of the (smaller) derivatives. At about 5m x 2m footprint, ~2500kg its the largest common "car" in general circulation here, so kinda F150ish in scale for UK users..
@sundogplanets I would suggest a Luton. Multiple makes, very popular van size. About 2.2t unladen, 3.5t loaded. Have actually driven one to Wales and back from South London. Hairy driving it through London.
Range Rover, definitely.
@sundogplanets Wouldn’t it be more like an F350?? Or do you mean more by sheer volume of sales? It’s the F350s and their I’ll that really get me. I understand them for farms (grew up in Oklahoma), but not as commuter vehicles!!

Each modern ford f150 is two moni coopers. Granted comparisons to a mini normally envisage the older one wherr you're between 2 and 4.
You're better off comparing to a white rhino, which is almost exactly in the same weight range as a modern f150 (4000lbs to 6000lbs for the rhino, 5000lbs to 7000lbs for the truck. Imperial units icky)

@sundogplanets I am a bit surprised you've gone with whipped cream. Somehow I assumed you have a constant supply of yogurt on hand. I love plain yogurt and maple syrup on pancakes or waffles. On the other hand, I can understand the pleasure of non-goat dairy on occasion.
Do you make yeast or non-yeast waffles?

@sundogplanets Big pickup truck should be fine. Most car manufacturers make these massive beasts, they don't fit in a standard uk parking space and often referred to a child killers for high bluff front end.

Was going to suggest a new London bus (12.65t) but that'll annoy many. A RR more reasonable because the annoyance is general and not regional like the bus.

You could use Ford Transit. That’s a typical panel van, and used by every builder and trade out there. It’s about the size of the F150, I think.
