I've been trying a bunch of web based RSS readers (freshRSS, yarr, commaFeed) and they're not as nice to use a Feedbin! But Feedbin is $100/yr :(
I like yarr the most though, nice default theme, the keyboard shortcuts work properly (even though my muscle memory isn't used to them) and very lightweight on the server
@decryption I'm not sure that self-hosting is a well supported use-case, but Feedbin is open-source if you wanted to try running it yourself. https://github.com/feedbin/feedbin
@wezm I've tried in the past and failed lol - it's a bit beyond my skillset (lots of moving parts!)
@decryption It's been many years and I don't even do RSS anymore, but I still miss Google Reader.

@decryption It never stopped ruling. I'm the one that became uncool. I just don't have time to read all the things I want to read, and RSS readers just make the situation worse for me.
@decryption $100 a year for an rss reader is a bold move in todays "fuck that, I'll vibe code something instead" market.
@bartreardon it’s great software, but yeah, I imagine most of their customers (I was one for many years) are from inertia

@marcedwards I use it on my Mac! This is for times I don’t want to take my Mac with me
@decryption @marcedwards What about Reeder? Classic is free, and it syncs via iCloud, so you can take your RRS with you on your phone without a web service behind it.

I already use netnewswire sync'd via FreshRSS across all my devices - this is a weird setup so I can go to any random computer, visit "rss.decrypton.net.au" or whatever, login and access my feeds
