Part way through my journey on the Australind train. It's quite comfortable with firm seats that aren't too firm. The seats have USB-C power outlets, reading lights and folding tray tables.

The ride is smooth and acceleration feels quick. Leg room is decent, but I'm in a bulkhead row at the end of the car, and there's nowhere to put my toes

There are overhead lockers above the seats and luggage storage at the end of each car, as well as a few bike racks. One toilet per car, which are clean and functional.

There's a small shop in the middle car, with a good range of snacks and drinks. As with many trains, the queuing is problematic, as the space is too narrow and blocks the corridor between cars.

The air conditioning is very effective, a little too effective for a winter's day. I'm a little chilly.

The windows are well placed and a good size, giving good viewing, but the curtains are annoying, as you can't push them fully out of the way, and there's nothing to secure them, so they slowly creep across the window.

All in all, a pleasant train to travel on for a medium distance journey.
