I recently had a new first time experience in life. I was uninvited from a space my ideas had gotten me into.
A lack of invitation rarely bothers me because it is a silent rejection. However, this rescinded invitation hurt. Someone proactively informed me that they valued my ideas and that they did not value my presence.
I put a like on the previous post, because it’s a brilliantly expressed observation.
Then I read this one, and again must wonder what the hell is wrong with people.
That’s a really shitty thing to do, and I am sorry it happened to you.
In the same way that songwriters typically are not the ones who make their ideas beloved, I know that I am not always the best person to present and advocate for my ideas.
I hope to pull a Carole King in my career. She admits that she’s not the best singer and yet she still successfully transitioned from prolific songwriter to celebrated performer.
