i'm just sort of shocked at this even tho i oughtn't be. and dismayed. i was staying out of email more earlier in the summer but then this week some stuff i had to check on and now... this. bleak
@inquiline well, thanks 😃 This is shaping up to be a year of further teaching horrors, frankly. The AI bot that listens to and transcribes classes is now freely available to all students chez nous without notification to colleagues or professors—with a warning that transcriptions are not to be shared, ofc. Local media taking the line, “oh noes, this amazing tech will throw student notetakers out of work!” Turned down a radio interview wrt it this week because I (still) like my job.
