Someone pointed out that there is an "The Odyssey" poster on the cover of the newer Nick & Charlie editions and I wanted to check. Turns out they were right. Which is, like, funny, knowing that the "Heartstopper Forever" movie just came out and "The Odyssey" just came out as well 👀
But also, there are differences between the UK (left) and the US (right) version. Don't ask me why I own both. I'm very much #Heartstopper 🍂
Back in 2022 I already made these tiny comparisons. One little difference between the show and the comic made me happy in a very specific nerdy way.
In the comic, Nick's mum says, "I wasn't born in 1920." In the show, Olivia Colman instead says, "I wasn't born in the 18th century."
Considering Olivia Colman had played Queen Anne, who was deeply involved in 18th-century politics, that tiny change feels so deliberate. It's such a small detail, but I absolutely love that level of care.

What were standouts for you?
@artcollisions The friendships. There have always been strong but seeing them manage all these changes felt amazing. What about you?
@fuzzyleapfrog I loved all the nods to previous content. I felt like there was more animation in this one than S2/3. I really loved the scene in the cafe with the older couple and Charlie watching them. Did you know that is Sir Derek Jacobi and his RL husband??
A lot of it felt very rushed. Would have loved to have seen a proper s4, but the more cinematic flavor was also super nice.
@artcollisions I still think about how I feel about it being a movie, but one thing I liked is that it didn't feel like neat, contained slices of a story, as it did in the series, but rather like a complete story arc.
I also loved how they handled the backlash against trans rights, from Elle talking to Charlie, to her being proud and loud at Pride.
I didn't know they were real-life husbands. That's adorable!
@fuzzyleapfrog Wanted to know if that is based on a real poster for an earlier movie or edition.
But up to now I just found that someone is selling items with this poster, but based on the one from Heartstopper, not the other way round:

@HeptaSean It reminded me of what I made out of the book "The son of nobody" after I gave up reading it.

@HeptaSean It's just on the cover but the band "I was born for this" is about, is part of the Heartstopper universe
