@catsalad I profoundly agree what you say--remember to boost things here, even if the post is old! Totally true. But, even as a joke, something inside me don't want to laugh of the phrase 'you are the algorithm'--because it is exactly the type of view of the human being that Big Tech seems to try to instill. You are not the algorithm, but the life here, and that's why you should boost :-))

Also worth noting that you can bookmark posts for surprise boosting later. Not necessarily browser bookmarks, Mastodon has a built-in bookmark feature too.

Isn't that nice? We people get to decide what we see. I joined Mastodon a few years ago and I lament the loss of the old, quiet social media ecosystem I found here. But because the fediverse allows for small, safe, spaces I know those communities live on elsewhere. I miss them but I get it!!
