Blocking a bunch of accounts that have very much failed to spark joy.
@mattblaze
It brings me joy to imagine that having been blocked is ... not *painful*, necessarily, but at least itchy. Like that spot on your back that you can't reach so it wrecks your whole day.
@mattblaze I’ve never understood the vitriol you seem to accrue… I enjoy your posts!
@mattblaze looking past the interaction, their employment of a short synopsis for longer posts via a CW does kind of hold weight. CW may be an innapropriate avenue since it blocks images that could be benign in nature. As an iPhone user on the mainline app I have always appreciated most longer threads I’ve decided to engage with but, it would be nice to not have them consume my entire feed for what feels like an infinity scroll amount of time.
@thelr my posts may not always meet your preferences. You can live with it, unfollow me, mute me, or block me depending on how much that bothers you.
I often make threads in real time, basically thinking out loud. I don’t always know where they’re going. Sorry.
@mattblaze @thelr Mastodon HOA cracking their knuckles before a quick team huddle to respond to this. The hashtag army cometh.
@mattblaze I wanted to open a dialog about the underlying technology you twat. Point on the doll to where the bad people touched you.
@thelr I’m not sure what your problem is, but I hope you are able to resolve it.

I get the impression that there are people who follow me just to check whether I’m posting things about which they disapprove.
@mattblaze I always wonder where these people find the time…
@mattblaze we go back a long way matt so ha ha you know it's true
Yeah. You do seem to attract people who are just spoiling for a fight. I genuinely don't know why they gravitate towards you in particular.
@CppGuy it was really over the top the last day.
@mattblaze @CppGuy I suspect the fact you explain election issues might be a problem for people who want to spread disinformation about it - so maybe some of them are trolling you directly with sock puppets, or just indirectly sending useful idiots in your direction, or just more generally seeding the idiot community with memes that will make them attack people like you, a sort of indirect stochastic attack...
@mattblaze your impression is wrong™.
@mattblaze They come for the photos, the political or technological insight, they stay for the opinions, and instead of leaving they join in on the arguments because they want it to be like Twitter.
I can't fathom why so many people find "Unfollow" such a hard feature to use.
Anyway, there's an XKCD for this. I'm sure you know the one.
@mattblaze
It's what they'd want.
The only mystery is why they don't do it themselves 😂
@me_valentijn just like that they completely stop existing.
@mattblaze Why are people like this to you, Matt?
@MisuseCase because I am a uniquely terrible person.
Joy is a rare reaction in this US political environment and I totally understand your frustration.
I like to consider the process of addition rather than subtraction but often times reduction can reveal a new path forward.
