@sidereal yeah I think that's why they exagerrate what he does - something like dunkirk, there was a time there was a Cool War Movie coming out every year. now it's rare, so we wonder if the guy who managed to create a Cool War Movie is actually a genius
@sidereal on the other hand, dunkirk was still undeniably a Cool War Movie
@julieofthespirits Yeah no, he's definitely not a bad director. I think some of his haters are going too far because other people are acting like he's omg the best ever. As usual, he's just a regular guy, with some strikes and some gutters.

I suspect that a lot of people are going to be embarrassed later by the amount of gushing they contributed for this film
He's the kind of director I feel would be perfectly at home in the old days of MGM (complimentary)
The fact that his new movie is a swords and sandals epic proves that he secretly yearns for MGM
