Some good news to cleanse your timeline:
Support for Tisza vs Fidesz in Hungary is now at an unprecedented 73%:21%. Fidesz & Orban keep collapsing & major players are jumping ship.

Remarkably, this is because the new Tisza party has mostly just been remarkably not shit since their election. Almost all of their appointed minsiters are reasonable and almost all of their energy is directed towards strengthening institutions & common sense reforms. They also communicate these changes effectively and invlove people in decision making processes where it make sense.

It's unbelievable to see politicians just not being shitty despite having unlimited power, and voters not being dumb and recognizing this. Almost like a parallel universe. I really hope this continues beyond the honeymoon phase!

Funny fact: The Tisza Party is conservative, centre-right, pro-European, and populist. It is led by a former Fidesz member.

Hungarian playbook for defeating the far-right: concentrate on just a few things and put identity politics aside. You can be left-progressive and support TISZA in the common effort to establish the rule of law.

As far as this, do you feel that people have a good way of connecting the results with the changes in office?

I often find that many people do in fact have a nice assortment of nuggets of information, but stop themselves short of making a correct conclusion. Often because media stigmatizes the movements from which these are drawn.

@keithnator3000 I don't know if I fully understand the question, but generally speaking I get the impression that the party is remarkably decent at communicating to voters what they are doing and the voters are remarkably not shit at more or less understanding the direction so far. There is alway a bunch of meddling in between, and I think Tisza is currently dealing with low hanging fruits, like cleaning up the mess of Fidesz. Once they have to start implementing major changes of thier own beyond that there will be a lot more room for disagreement, but I think so far it's working
