American exceptionalism is a hell of a drug and psychosis. Try being an immigrant American living somewhere with social medical and telling people it’s actually good and less expensive. The bots and naysayers come screaming out of the woodwork to try to make excuses for why it’s actchully terrible.

@hacks4pancakes @alice Yeah this is wild. Every non-American I know is puzzled by this behaviour. Access to free healthcare is obviously a blessing (that everyone everywhere should have).
@hacks4pancakes I still don't understand the aversion to it. If everyone in the country is pooling together money for essential services, why wouldn't healthcare be at the top of that list?
