I was watching CP24 yesterday and they interviewed some health person about how to stay safe with the wildfire smoke, and he mentioned staying inside and not doing strenuous activity outside, but didn't say anything about wearing a fucking mask

I hate that since COVID """ended""" (scariest scare quotes of all time) we as a society have apparently decided never to wear masks again for any reason no matter how justified.
We're back to just Asian people wearing masks now. Also visibly radical-queer-type people, so that's progress, I guess.
@nev I have seen a surprising number of bicyclists wearing masks in the past couple of days (which is to say, more than zero), but if it took this much ...
(I follow @camelliakyoto who posts a lot of pictures and etc from Kyoto, and one of the things that feels disorienting is how tons of people are casually masked in them. I wish that was the fashion here too.)
