@sundogplanets We have a family friend who flew 3 STS missions back in the 90s - neither they, or any of their cohort will watch the space x launches for fear of witnessing another STS-51-L (needless to say, they wouldn't fly in the gear either, and apparently this isn't an uncommon attitude....)

@sundogplanets I was quite excited for NASA, ESA and even Chinese and Indian launches, but all the SpaceX launches are just bitter tasting because of the idiot owning it and how they are all cheering when rockets explode while they are pissing away tax payer money with very little regard and the stock exchange shenanigans. This is not space exploration, this is money milking machine.

i'm worried how much worse it's going to get w/ China & others ramping up there satellite space race, many of whom seem to have the same nihilistic "money & power over all" mentality as the worst people among humanity, who also happen to be players in space technology

why is it always the space "race", when we would all benefit, if we could just share?

The Mirrors that are planed for low earth orbit are designed to Heat the earth while the Sun is not shining , they will be aimed at the oceans , they will be aimed at the ice at the poles . @sundogplanets Tbf all rockets are an ecological disaster one way or another no matter who does it. All those Shuttle boosters did not just naturally break up or be used to form coral reefs, they're either breaking up slowly in the seas or forming an impenetrable layer of space trash encircling earth.
