@dansup haven't heart this in a while. Although its very different from everything else he made, i think this is burials masterpiece.
@dansup yes, i agree that most of his stuff is brilliant, and even there rival dealer (i mean the whole ep, not just the song) stands out. I think the whole three songs on that ep are very much about the joy and pain of being/becoming/coming out as queer.
@el_EL yeah, I've been obsessed with burial for years, I have a dozen vinyls and dubplates too.
It blows my mind that he isn't more popular, but at the same time, that Elysium scene is one of the reasons its my fav movie.
@el_EL or when he sampled Lana Wachowski on "Come down to us".
"Without examples, without models
I began to believe voices in my head
That I was a, a freak, that I am broken
That there is something wrong with me
That I will never be lovable
Years later I find the courage to admit that I am transgender
And that this does not mean that I am unlovable
So if this world that we imagine in this room might be used to gain access to other rooms, to other worlds, previously unimaginable"
@el_EL everything burial has released is a masterpiece IMO
like when he linked up with Radiohead and released "Her Revolution" and "His Rope"
