Fantastic work by @Thorin at EFF looking at the state of fitness tracker privacy.
Most wearable makers don't end-to-end encrypt your data, so police/feds (and hackers!) can get your health data — and almost none publish a transparency report, so we may never know if they do.
@zackwhittaker @Thorin Regarding local storage of health/biometric data, isn't that a fundamental point of Google's Health Connect API, which replaces Google Fit? Quote: "data in Health Connect is all on-device and encrypted".

Also, this was great reporting by BBC's @thomasgermain on Mozilla's latest research out today on the many privacy problems with period trackers.
@swodinsky, who did the app testing for Mozilla, found one period tracker, Stardust, was sharing users' health data with a third-party.
