They want to be like 'electricity' provider company, why would you want to own power generator if it is supplied via power grid/power plants? Everything is aligned to push their agenda.

@aral It's important to note this is by design --- none of the RAM in the RAM shortage has actually been made yet.

Also, they COULD have an efficient coding model that would do what LLM's are good at -- the new Chinese models are far more efficient.

They are specifically training these models to be wasteful, to use ram not yet created, as a coordinated attempt to wrest computation away from the rest of us.

@aral all those "obsolete" computers that can't run the latest version of Windows or MacOS any more can run perfectly on Linux. There can be an opportunity somewhere hidden in this mess. In the Netherlands there is a great initiative to refurbish laptops with Linux and hand them out to people that can't afford one: https://www.laptoprevive.nl/ (sorry Dutch). @LaptopRevive
