@mastodonmigration Makes me wonder how much basically free publicity El-Sayed or some other prospective politician doing what AOC did and streaming on Twitch, but to basically just do a fireside chat and discuss their platform. The silver lining I see to this is it's a lot easier to engage the people whose choice is the Dem or (staying on) the couch than it's made out to be for nowhere near the amount of money a litany of TV ads would cost. If it takes them eight times the budget now, that means it'll eventually get unsustainable. Mamdani literally said regarding the budget difference for his campaign, "they're spending more trying to defeat me than I would tax them if elected."
