How does one go from ‘trying to be an artist’ to a ‘genocide-ing supreme leader’?

@farah no what i mean is that hitler was a working commercial painter until he fled vienna to avoid service. he became a wanted criminal because of that, and was eventually sent to battle. postwar Germany was extremely bad, with Zimbabwean-style hyperinflation, which is when hitler started leading local groups of former soldiers into rebellion.
to put it simply, WW1 happened and turned a shitty commercial artist turning out SEARS paintings to a genocidal warlord who destroyed Europe.
