# Shipping to EU from UK
> As of 1st of July the EU made things difficult - the exact opposite of the slick and easy IOSS process - adding a new €3 import duty on small parcels value up to €150. This is separate from IOSS, so even with IOSS and prepaid VAT, the recipient gets hassled by customs for €3 duty!

Yet another "Brexit bonus", clearly.
Perhaps, one day, the EU will let us back.

@neil The saddest part is the number of people in the UK that clearly think this is specifically aimed at them "as retaliation" and not actually exactly what they voted for, which was "we want to be treated like all other nations globally that are not in the EU".

A sane and compromise friendly UK would no doubt be welcomed back in the EU.
But:
- The UK itself -- wearing an Empire-sized ego, a boisterous sash of demands, and a crown of special treatment no less -- triggered the exit clause, and insisted on being completely terrible to deal with to boot (at huge cost/burden to *everyone*)
- The UK has chosen NOT to re-apply for EU membership
What is there for the EU to do here...?

Exactly that: that the UK would need to convince Member States that it is worthy to be let back in.
@neil Every week I get questions over why I don't ship to whichever EU country, and how sad people are they can't have what I make 
@neil but not paying 3 EUR for each line item to the UK really is a Brexit bonus 🙃.
@neil its mainly to combat chinese crap. Honestly importing from uk was already outrageously expensive, the 3eur barely makes a dent in current customs fees.
