Remember that the same techniques we learned in the early months of the (ongoing, I know) Covid epidemic work as well to clear your air of smoke particles as virus particles.
A cheap box fan plus any no-name MERV12 to 14 furnace filters can be duct taped into an effective clean air filtration system for under $100 CAD.
If you happen to own a home with central air ductwork, check and replace your filters. MERV14 is plenty, too much higher will strain the hardware.
Never, ever forget that we could, as a society, have had laws about clean and low-CO2 interior air and it would have saved a lot of lives and a lot of money, but corporate landlord and rentier class and would have been slightly inconvenienced by that and conservative governments didn't want to spend money on things like the health of public employees or the maintenance of public buildings so we got an everything-is-back-to-normal, remote-work-is-bad domestic propaganda campaign instead.
