There is an extreme weather alert for this afternoon.
The current temperature is 38°C, and record-breaking winds of up to 160 km/h and potentially destructive hail are expected later today.
I'm going to cram all my outdoor activities into the next two hours, and then lock myself inside the oven I call home.
@stefano here in NYC, the wild fires from Canada are making everything hazy and it smells strongly of burning plastic. Fun times.
Dang! That's brutal. I hope it's a lot lighter than that for you. I'll be thinking of you.
I have been doing my bicycling and exercises when the sun starts to rise. That gives a few hours away from the heat ☀️

@stefano we’ve been having similar weather in New York (the state, not the city, unfortunately) over the last few weeks.
At one point I drove into a thunderstorm, caught a break in it, then had to turn around and ended up driving back into the damn thing. Rain was coming in damn-near horizontally, and hail the size of golf balls pelted my car.
I’ve had moments where I need to “lock in” while driving, but that was the first time I’ve been driving and felt deeply scared rather than merely frightened or surprised.
