@scott "Bright Saver sells a 180-watt kit for about $285 and a 360-watt kit for $414. To access these prices, you first have to become a member, which costs $29 annually (with renewal optional). Otherwise, a 180-watt kit is $499, and a 360-watt kit is $699."
@VogueLaGalere @scott what does the membership get you?
@glassresistor @scott I do not know and can only guess that such monies go to salaries for staff?
@VogueLaGalere @scott generally paying for the item pays staff. so why turn it into weird payment plan?
@glassresistor @VogueLaGalere @scott - It looks like its the Costco business plan. Costco makes most of it's profit off of its annual membership dues. Everything else is sold almost at cost and with almost no profit.
So for the consumer it's a simple question of how much savings do you get and how quickly will that savings pay for your annual membership?
