Latest polling indicates 71% of Americans oppose building of data centers in their communities or areas, across all age groups and political orientations.
@lauren I wonder whether the pollster asked respondents for their estimate of that opposition percentage.
That's always our problem, realizing that most people are on the same side.
@lauren But will they stop using the LLMs which those data centers are built for? Will the US government decide to stop using LLMs? These things make the NSA's Massive Storage Facility in Bluffdale, UT look like an RPi compared to AI's Cray.
(I've never seen value in AI, so I speak as an outsider.)

@ChuckMcManis I don't know of any other issue other than child abuse that cuts across political and age demographics like this. Also, the negative polling on data centers has risen dramatically in the last year. Incredibly as people start to understand it all. Politicians and the Fascist Big Tech Billionaires ignore this wellspring at their own peril.
