"Make DST permanent" is such a silly idea.

DST should be banished and people in places who roundly prefer DST to standar time (like New England) should move time zones.

The fix is to fix your broken time zone, not drag everyone into some weird state where 1 is noon and midnight.

I don't care if they make the permanent offset between 0 hours, 1 hour, or 6 hours. The number isn't what matters. We can deal with that.
It's the changing back and forth that has to go.

@MichaelTBacon New England switching to Atlantic Time certainly seems like the easiest answer. If they manage to push this DST nonsense through Congress, the Western half of Georgia will need to move to Central time.

Yes this will mean people in Boston will have to come to terms with how weird and way out they are from the rest of the country, but that's overdue anyway . . .
