If there is too much light (sun) up north in Basel, the temperatures are much better if you come south ;)

"It showed that roughly half of the requests and half of the bandwidth are spent by scraper bots.” amai that is a lot…. and yes, I have seen similar trends, never poke at HTTP logs, Fortunately @cadey 's Anubis helps quite a bit in combo with blanket bans on a variety of bad User-Agents; but the amount of cost all the overhead of this gives, especially when data is not changing but nevertheless scraped again... ouch.

@jeroen @bagder I've been doing analytics on hits from Anubis' honeypot feature. On average 80% of them seem to be from random residential IP addresses. My only guess is they're from random pwned smart TVs. The problem is way worse than any of us know.
