Trump is giving a speech Thursday. News orgs reporting it will be about elections. That's what we know.
There are lots of frenzied positive feedback loops spinning up claims that Trump is going to "declare a national emergency and nationalize elections", which seems like a poor use of speculative credibility given that we'll find out what he actually says in a few days.
Yeah maybe so but I've got a blog to monetize.
@mattblaze I anticipate the loudest folks are wanting to be able to proclaim "I told you so!" because hoping for a bad outcome just to gloat is such a good look.
And they have the escape if it doesn't happen of claiming "we made so many people upset that the bad guy changed his mind!" so they can still give themselves a gold star.
I'm just going to do some house repairs and give it time to settle.
I'm not sure why people get so worked up over that felon "declaring" things.
He "declared" that the Gulf of Mexico had a new name. Does it?
His "declarations" are worth very little and should be treated with all the respect that statements by a liar and fraud deserve.

Personally, I'm saving my limited energy for worrying about things that actually happen.
Actually understanding something about the structure and logistics of US elections is arguably cheating here.
@mattblaze I’ve been a precinct poll worker off and on since 2010 and ran for a partisan city council ward seat in 2021. I’ve done set up and shut down at the poll on a DS200, handed out ballots, checked in voters, and helped the team in running polling days. It just bothers me that that is more experience than POTUS has really had.
