Repeat after me: there is no such thing as left authoritarianism. Tankies and fascists are cut from the same cloth.
The purpose of a political spectrum that admits authoritarians at both ends is to make it impossible to imagine the opposite of authoritarianism.
It doesn't matter if you have the same end goals as me if you have a completely different idea about how to get there. The vanguard will never relinquish power.
And note that I believe this even though I accept the tankie assertion that much of western propaganda about the USSR was complete bullshit, and that many of the problems that did exist were the result of capitalist interference.
