@khinsen oooh! this is something I've thought about a little bit, as someone who lives a few km from KBOS
background that you may already know:
good news is that most airports (and almost certainly the one you're thinking of) have standardized approaches and departures, which are used by pilots and controllers to automate the critical first and last few minutes of flight
which ones are in use depends on weather, time of day, traffic demands, etc, and changing which pattern is in use is a whole ordeal. probably can be considered stable for a few hours
this limits the wigglyness of the flight paths over time, and also means you might need to only spot-check a modest handful of flights a day to get an idea

I think I'd start at FlightAware, which does have data for previous flights!

you need an account and/or payment to get the info going back a useful length of time, but they have the data
