when i had to call 911 thinking i was having a heart attack, this is exactly what they told me. there i was on the floor when they got to me: FDNY with axes in hand and EMS with a defibrillator. all i could say ―like the total dork i am―, you’re too tall to be Gimli. was thrilled to be pushed on a stretcher to the ambulance with Tall Gimli, axe in hand, by me 😁
A useful thing to remember if you ever need to call an ambulance for a potentially life-threatening emergency, especially if you're alone: After you call 911, UNLOCK YOUR FRONT DOOR SO THEY CAN REACH YOU QUICKLY. If they have to do a forced entry, that will cost precious minutes, possibly more if the fire department isn't already there.
