People who believe in god are always thanking god whenever they survive a natural disaster completely ignoring the fact that, if god actually exists, then god is the one who created that disaster.
@Alice @mrundkvist Ah, but you’re forgetting the “works in mysterious ways” clause in the belief system.
Anything that contradicts the belief system, can be attributed to this, no questions asked.
@Alice
There's a study of ancient city-states in the Levant by Bertil Albrektsson. When they defeated another state they wrote "Our city God is more powerful than theirs!"
When they lost against others, they wrote "Our city God is more powerful than theirs! But currently angry at us for our sins!" 😄
Not necessarily. Some cultures don't believe in an "activist" deity that micromanages the universe.
@Alice obviously, those who didn't survive deserved punishment. It's a win win for "god".
@CuriousMagpie Exactly! "That young family of four that didn't survive clearly deserved to die more than me so I thank god for seeing that my life is more valuable than theirs!"
@Alice god must take great pleasure in chaos, making the wrong choices intentionally
@Alice
Yeah, so?
People who claim to believe in god voted for Trump.
@Alice
Do you know who also says that? SATAN! 👹😂
@Alice
Yeah, but god has a plan! That just happens to involve repeated mass murder of thousands of people!
Also, god is the source of all morals!
🙃
I just picture "god" waking up in the morning thinking of what kind of catastrophic event they can release just so the survivors will thank them.
@Alice Maybe they think it's that evil guy from waaay down below.
@Alice undergo a 22hr life saving operation "Thank God"
Surgeons, Nurses & Hospital Staff 🙄🙄
