If this isn't bureaucracy in France in a nutshell 😅
Sign outside of a relatively small wind farm giving chronology of the project, translated to English, it reads:
1998 - project starts
2002 - applied for a construction permit 🤞
🦗 ... 🦗
2018 - construction starts 😅
2020 - construction ends
2021 - commissioning and grid connection
A reminder you can literally build your own (admittedly, much smaller) wind turbine using a Piggott turbine design, with the resources and knowledge of the Wind Empowerment network at https://windempowerment.org/ . No construction permit needed 😁
2.3 MW turbines it seems (E-70?)
I don't know the actual history, maybe there is a good reason... but I enjoyed seeing this as someone often refreshing various french government websites to check on the status of a "depot de demande de" something or other (no construction permits, though).
