The Weimar Republic absolutely had a solid bloc of centrist dickbags who were willing to cozy up to fascists because they were more scared of the left.
The difference is in quality, not in quantity. They did exist, and they did enable the Nazis to reach power once.
Not twice, not staging show impeachments, not sharing power with them when they were ravaging communities, bombing former allies, and invading others.
The Democrats are not the same as the centrists of that day, the Democrats are Vichy.
