We’ve been without power since 09:00 this morning. It’s now after 13:00, and it’s heating up quite a bit outside. Luckily, it’ll only top about 90℉ today, but if NES doesn’t fix the power soon, our home will turn into a sauna.

Uff, I hope you have at least water to cool down...
@elisvheva We do. Thanks!
Looking at the outage map, there are about 500 customers without power in Antioch. We heard a loud bang this morning just before the power went out, we think a transformer or substation that services our neighborhood must have blown.
@ramsey under a heat wave here in France, 36°C at 6PM for the last 5 days, and they forecast a peak around 40°C tomorrow.
I dream of a 32°C peak... Right now, 9PM, 29°C in my living room with a mobile A/C (probably 32° in the bedrooms...) 🥵
Truly wish multi-spilt A/C were cheaper...
@ramsey Hope things will go back to normal soon. Stay hydrated and if needs be, take a cold shower ;-)
@ramsey Are ya'll able to keep cool somehow?
@kevin Due to the way our home’s A/C is configured (broken; long story), our main floor and basement are comfortable and will be for a while. If it gets bad, we can go to a hotel nearby. I’m not worried about us, but I’m sure there are others in the neighborhood who will have difficulty. Supposedly, it should be fixed around now, so we’ll see.
@kevin The TL;DR on our A/C config is that it’s a zone system, but the damper motors gave out, so we just have them all wide open. So, when the upstairs is calling for A/C, the downstairs is being cooled, too. This results in temps like 78-80℉ upstairs and 65℉ downstairs.
