100% of interactions in Brazil go through WhatsApp or Instagram, in ALL segments: personal, commerce, judiciary, law enforcement, governmental, educational, etc.

Brazil is a data privacy HELLSCAPE.

I sued a company, & the case only became valid in court once I sent photos of my personal ID via WhatsApp and confirmed a message to the court's official WhatsApp account.

You either give away EVERYTHING you have to WhatsApp, thus Meta, thus the USA or you are out. There's no data sovereignty here.

And I don't have Instagram. I've been back to Brazil for almost a year now, and I skipped so many commercial interactions due to companies that require you to talk w/ them via Instagram (in some cases you have to send them a message there -> they send you their WhatsApp number via Instagram).
