I've done a few posts about bad railway solar, so time for a photo of good railway solar. This bike parking shelter has a load of solar panels on the roof, that have short cable runs, are easy to clean, easy to do maintenance on, and generate a good proportion of the power as the stupid between the rails solar I moaned about the other day. The brick building has no solar on the roof yet, so lots of potential.
@quixoticgeek it's kinda astonishing to me, that despite the state of Queensland being known as a very sunshiney place, the only Queensland Rail facility that I know of that has solar panels installed, is the brand new Train Manufacturing facility in Torbenlea. All the stations, all the workshops, and all the stabling yards currently seem to be solar panel-less
I know they have the little wee individual solar panels on the yard lighting, but you'd think that they'd have them on the rooftops of train stations at least?
