I have a lot of Southwest and Marriott points, so sometimes @KevBot and I will look up cheap flights to a new place to explore and then we'll do a generic search for restaurants to try to get an idea for an area with a lot of stuff so we know where to stay, so one time we found a cheap flight to Santa Ana and I found a cluster of stuff and booked a room at the Westin nearby only to get there and realize that the cluster of "stuff" was a mall. 😭
@rockmastermike @KevBot Yeah! I have a bunch of other search terms I use when I find several clusters and want to narrow it down to the "cool" area, but in this case there was pretty much only one cluster so I stopped there.
@rockmastermike @KevBot We did find a couple of cool things to do there, like a cute little brewery called Green Cheeks and a barcade and a little store with vintage Garfield stuff and a good brunch spot in a container park. But it was all kind of spaced out so where we ended up staying was fine for what the overall area had to offer. It's just funny that what I thought was going to be a nice little downtown area was just a dumb mall.
