I just looked up the word “veritable” to check its meaning, and this definition is so funny, I can’t make it up:

used as an intensifier, often to qualify a metaphor

I checked the OED, and most of the etymological definitions (i.e., about “truth,” Latin *veritas*) are now considered obsolete.

The word pretty much means nothing. It only serves as an intensifier. 🤣
