I've been hoping for years that someone would build a new social networking platform on RSS and other standards. When I looked into ActivityPub and Mastodon, I was surprised how incredibly complicated it all is.

I'm hoping Dave & co. can make something simpler. I don't see any discussion of moderation yet, and that's arguably the harder problem, but rss.chat is already an impressive step.
