Stop boosting Cory Doctorow's takes on Gen AI. He loves using it to "edit" his writing. 🫠 He thinks that's totally worth burning down forests, draining lakes, and tormenting the poor people who live near Gen AI datacentres and can't afford to move.

Cory isn't poor and he goes to Burning Man each year to hang out with his rich tech buddies.
There are truly much less hypocritical and less rich "anti AI" people you could signal boost instead.
While the AI bubble is primarily a *material* phenomenon (driven by the calculation that bosses are easy marks for a sales pitch that sees them replacing workers with software), there is an inescapable ideological component to it: the desire for a world without people in it:
