#OtD 9 Jul 1919 bartenders in Allentown, PA, went on strike to impress on citizens the "horrors" of prohibition which was due to begin. No Beer No Work

In 1919 when the US government proposed introducing prohibition, hundreds of thousands of workers in New York and New Jersey voted to strike on the day it was enacted. They wore pins declaring "No beer no work" with the design which we have put on these high quality T-shirts, hoodies, badges and posters.

@workingclasshistory I wear the shirt every May Day, Labour Day, etc. and any other occasion associated with solidarity.
