@davidgerard The entire sector has been prepping for this for years.

When I was back in Seattle I knew people working at various "quantum" startups and, privately, they'd half confess that they were just wasting money and time playing with toys.

It's all such an unbelievable joke. Rumor is that Google has been very disappointed with its internal quantum research, though it won't dare say so. Apparently the research group is essentially moribund.

@prietschka I know people who know people at PsiQuantum who are convinced they've cracked it. I mean, good luck to 'em? Factoring numbers as high as 35 any day now!
