@cstross I remember taking the Acela “high speed” rail from DC to New York. On some sections of track it hit 80mph!

@cstross We’re on an ICE 3 class 403, so probably built at the start of the century. It’s only allowed to go at 300 km/h on this line, but 330 on the Frankfurt-Cologne route. Had been at 369 in testing.
