My wife is blind. She uses smart glasses as assistive technology for her disability.

While I agree there is a pervert problem, hers is a legitimate use case for them.

@zackwhittaker Could also be called BC or birth control glasses as an INS agent embassy Moscow called his butt ugly glasses. When he bought them he said he wanted the ugliest glasses they had. They were pretty awful.

Yes. A good label to shame them, but as you write this isn’t just about perversion: lewd images are readily available online. Doing it in person without consent is about exercising control. It’s a gateway drug to ultimate control, i.e., r*pe. For me, ‘pervert’ doesn’t quite capture the need to take, to control, to disregard another’s humanity. Oh look, I just listed 3 defining traits of Big Tech execs, the lewd ones and non-lewd alike.

@zackwhittaker I wonder if this will cause a change in trends, with people going back to 'frameless' glasses too thin to house cameras.

@zackwhittaker note that a recent decision from a eu data protection authority established that if anybody use this kind of things in the workplace, the employer is accountable for the data processing.
