@gerrymcgovern Unfortunately both data centers and golf courses use insane volumes of water.
The land needlessly wasted by both would be better served by dense greenery.
Oh wait, that doesn't drive profits.
The best use of golf courses is to build dense, walkable, bikeable, affordable, housing.

Extra bad because theres huge waiting lists for allotments in most cities and local authorities are supposed to provide enough to cover demand, but city councils pretty much never do this.
Golf course water use is huge. They can carry on putting huge amounts of water on their courses when households are banned from using hosepipes to water their plants due to low levels in reservoirs.
@dazinism An NFU report also suggested golf courses take up more land than proposed solar requirements.
