Saw an ad for the Meta brand creeper/surveillance glasses today and fuck you if you buy a pair or defend their existence

@researchfairy if they feel it's okay to surveill you, it's fair play to surveill them and upload their location to a website.
If it's not their fault authorities arrest you because a chatbot misinterprets their data, it's not your fault that masked strangers use the website to find them, snatch their glasses and stomp on them.
@researchfairy I'm assuming people in general are reacting just as negatively to facebook's attempt at this as they did to google's, back in the day?
or is there some indication there's more public enthusiasm for spy-glasses, now?
@eigen I hope you're right, and I haven't seen any uptake in my circles, but they're trying it again specifically because they've calculated that there's less energy for a pushback now
