I already recommended this book here, but I really really really enjoyed "What We Are Seeking" by Cameron Reed (and I finished it while travelling last week, so I'm re-recommending it!) Fantastic alien ecosystem biology, lovely characters, super interesting far-future societies

@sundogplanets Wasn't it wonderful? I loved it so much, I read it twice. Felt like a successor to Le Guin.
@sundogplanets I missed it the first time around so thanks for mentioning again, sounds like just what I like. I also rather like the note at the bottom of the info page on the Apple Book store that says the publisher has requested it be sold without DRM. Good for them!
Interestingly on Kobo it is being sold with: “At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.”
I have not seen that before.
