I resisted getting a smartphone for as long as I feasibly could. When I stopped being able to pay for parking and get through my university's 2FA system, and my old dumbphone broke and I effectively could not replace it, I finally broke down.
I do like this movement of "we have a smartphone but it's just for work" move though.
I don't think I could leave my iPhone anywhere because of that. But maybe I could stick it in my shoulder bag instead of my pocket.
What I've wanted for years is a tablet that could act as a smartphone when I wanted to Do Computer but with mobile and a dumbphone that I could actually talk on.
